Zero Waste Hoodie

Zero Waste patternmaking

Zero Waste Hoodie

Airetage collaboration aimed for a zero waste pattern to be made that didn’t look like zero waste. As the brand will focus more diverse motifs, the patters will be used as the base garment for them.

The pattern created was created based on the material used chosen by Airetage sized for 3 sizes.

Challenge

This project challenged me in converting a non-zero waste pattern into a zero waste one.

With my previous process with zero waste patternmaking I wasn’t able to have a final sketch of the garment before finalising the pattern. The design would change based on it’s patternamaking allowance within the fabric width.

From this project I was able to identify more ways to incoperate conventional patterns within a zero waste space.

Zero-Waste Pattern Making.

Zero-waste pattern making takes account of how the whole fabric can be utilized in a garment throughout the development of the pattern. Ensuring that garment production has no textile waste.
